NTPC Simhdri Super Thermal Power Project will soon set up two electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
NTPC General Manager (Technical) Saroj Chelluri said on Saturday that the stations would be located at the township and power plant at Deepanjalingar near here.
With the government deciding to encourage use of electric vehicles, NTPC has decided to open charging stations at all its projects.
She said once charged, the electric vehicle could run for 100 km. The stations will have facility to take care of the requirement of three cars simultaneously. NTPC Simhadri is also planning to encourage its employees to use more number of electric vehicles as part of commitment to protect the environment and reduce carbon footprint.
